Why Visit Mannie's Seafood

Welcome to Mannie's Seafood, a hidden gem nestled right off the Gulf Freeway in Houston. This laid-back seafood restaurant stands out for its vibrant coastal cuisine and the welcoming atmosphere that invites everyone to unwind over a delicious meal. If you're yearning for fresh seafood that feels just like home, you’ve found your slice of paradise.

At Mannie's, you’ll dive into a menu that showcases the richness of the sea. One of the most popular choices is their Jumbo Shrimp Platters, perfectly fried or sautéed in a buttery garlic sauce that brings a delightful garlicky aroma to your table. The pan-fried shrimp, served shell-on, is a specialty well-loved for its crispy texture and flavorful meat. For those looking to complement their seafood, the Special Fried Rice (a crowd favorite) and Pork Fried Noodles are must-tries, each offering their own delightful blend of flavors and textures.

The drinks menu complements the seafood experience brilliantly, with irresistible options like the Frozen Margarita for just $3.25, making it a fantastic addition to your meal. Whether you're in the mood for a refreshing Coke Mexicana or a soothing cup of coffee, every sip delights, ensuring you're perfectly hydrated while enjoying your dining adventure.

The ambiance at Mannie's Seafood strikes a wonderful balance between casual dining and vibrant energy. With open seating and a friendly atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to catch up with friends, or grab a quick bite before catching a flight, especially given its proximity to the airport. Patrons like Maria Pressley rave about the generous portion sizes and freshness—her fried shrimp and fish meal was not just good, it was “delicious,” exemplifying the restaurant’s commitment to quality.

Real customers frequently highlight the warm service provided by the staff, which enhances the experience and makes every visit memorable. Aida L Rubino appreciates how they tailored her meal to her preferences, emphasizing their flexibility and care for customer satisfaction, while reviews like Donnielle Reed-Lewis' reveal a loyal following that is hooked on the fresh offerings.

While the buzz of a lively atmosphere reigns, it’s also important to note that a few guests have mentioned room for improvement regarding cleanliness, hinting that the demand for this local treasure might sometimes outpace its housekeeping. However, with fresh flavors, delightful dishes, and a casual yet charming vibe, Mannie's Seafood is certainly worth a visit.

So, whether you're spending a day exploring Houston or just need a hearty meal before your journey, Mannie's Seafood promises a delightful escape into the flavors of the sea. Come hungry and leave satisfied!

First time here. Food was great ! It’s like a seafood taqueria. Staff was friendly , service was fast. Only reason for the 4 stars was the cleanliness. There was fried rice all over the floor, spilled drink at an empty table. Bathrooms smelled horrible. I might choose a drive they option if available

This is a casual place within 5 min of the airport. It's worth a stop. I had the #1 lunch special, which was fried shrimp, a piece of fresh fish fried, shrimp fried rice, and a simple salad. It was delicious. The fish and shrimp are lightly breaded in cornmeal. There was no question the fish and shrimp were fresh, sweet, and just lovely. The side of shrimp fried rice was simple and good, but my partner had the Special Fried Rice, and it was fantastic. I haven't had fried rice this good in a long time. I also ordered the fish and shrimp soup to go. Tasted it when we returned home, and it was good too. The servings are generous. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. You can tell they cater to the locals. If you are going or coming from the airport, it's worth a trip, even an Uber ride if you have time.

Whole fried fish, just like we get in Mexico but more expensive ($30-40)! (Be sure to order fried without batter). The micheladas are cheap and tasty too!

My fiancé, mom, and I came here for lunch on April 16th. It was by complete mistake, but it was very worth it. The prices here are cheap for the portions. We each got a different lunch special, and they were huge portions of fish. The salmon I ordered wasn't fishy at all. I'm usually very picky about my salmon, and this was delicious. It does smell fishy in the restaurant, but the fish doesn't taste old at all. It was definitely worth the price.
